BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza

Sweet and smoky BBQ sauce, tender pulled pork, melty mozzarella, and sharp red onion

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of pizza dough (250g)
  • 20g BBQ sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 37.5g cooked pulled pork (seasoned and shredded)
  • 37.5g shredded mozzarella
  • 25g red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1.5 tsp olive oil
  • Fresh coriander or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1If using a kitchen oven: Preheat to 475°F (245°C) with a baking stone or tray inside. If using an outdoor pizza oven: Preheat to 750–800°F (400–425°C).
  2. 2Stretch or roll the dough into a 12-inch circle.
  3. 3Spread BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. 4Sprinkle half the mozzarella over the sauce.
  5. 5Distribute pulled pork evenly, followed by red onion slices.
  6. 6Top with the remaining mozzarella and drizzle with a little extra BBQ sauce if desired.
  7. 7Bake: Kitchen oven 10–12 minutes until cheese is bubbling and crust is golden; Outdoor pizza oven 60-90 seconds, rotating every 20 seconds.
  8. 8Drizzle with more BBQ sauce and sprinkle with fresh coriander or parsley before serving.

Chef's Tips

Use a smoky BBQ sauce for deeper flavour.
Toss the pulled pork in a little BBQ sauce before adding to keep it moist.
Thinly slice onions so they soften without burning.
